Back in 2012 it looked like it could be Comeback Season for The Laugh. We now know that he excited as host of the Oscars and there was his Spike TV special One Night Only that had more Z’s than a polish family reunion. The show had some fringe moments, but Eddie avoided the microphone that night like it was a transvestite woman he wouldn’t pull over for.
Despite Arsenio’s begging, Murphy passed and the night was sort of a wash.
Now, The Kennedy Center is getting in on the act by honoring the comedian with their Mark Twain Prize for American Humor. The event takes place October 18th in D.C. and is sure to be a good time.
Chris Rock, Dave Chappelle, Trevor Noah and Jay Pharoah will all be in the house, in addition to Arsenio.
We just hope the mute act Eddie pulled off at Spike and SNL doesn’t apply here. We get it, your bar is higher than Snoop on a Saturday night. But we’re getting tired of Rock telling everyone how funny you still are. Prove it.
